International Pet Transportation, Inc.
Specialists in Pet Relocation to Australia and New Zealand

Did You Know ...

Australia and New Zealand have reduced the traditional rabies control quarantine period from 6 months to as little as 1 month by implementing pre-entry vet requirements.
Attention to detail is key to a successful pet relocation. Most problems and delays are caused by errors in the import documentation.

Why you will need our assistance...

Just prior to departure for Australia or New Zealand, the US Government Veterinary Office (USDA) must review and approve the documentation that accompanies each pet. This "pet passport" contains evidence that the pet has accomplished the required veterinary preparations on the proper schedule. These preparations are complex and the schedule is very time-sensitive, with tests and treatments that must be performed exactly as prescribed and whose results are at risk of expiring. Pet owners who attempt to organize this process without professional assistance, or by hiring pet transport companies who do not specialize in Australia and New Zealand pet travel, face the possibility of their pets failing to meet the requirements. In such cases, the USDA will reject the documentation and deny the pet from traveling. Tests and treatments that were done incorrectly or which have expired must be redone, causing significant delay in travel for pets and additional veterinary and related expenses for their owners. (Please avoid financially desperate air freight forwarders disguised as pet transporters.)
International Pet Transportation, Inc. (IPT) has many years of experience devoted exclusively to Australia and New Zealand pet travel. We transport pets to these two countries on a daily basis, over forty pets each month, and do not transport pets to any other countries.
Dear Diana, Donna, Billy, Donald and the rest of the staff,

Just wanted to say thank you to all involved in getting Tilly and Gracie back to Australia.

I will be singing your praises for a long time to come. The first contact with your organization was prompt and professional. I was impressed with the attention to detail and accessibility to your staff during the process of forms and bloodwork. Someone was always there to answer questions and to organize the required paperwork and liaise with our vet. This caring and professional approach made the stressful time of sending our girls back so much easier and I felt reassured that they would be well looked after.

So thank you all for doing such a wonderful job. I will send you a photo when they are out of quarantine and are enjoying the Aussie sunshine.
Dear Diana, Donna, and the rest of your wonderful staff;

Before any more time goes by, and things get too crazy here with our move to New Zealand, Wayne and I would like to send you our most grateful thanks for the kind, caring, compassionate, and professional job you all have done regarding our "kids". From start to finish, your guidance and encouragement made all the difference in making the move for ALL of us a smooth transition.

We know we would NEVER had been able to do it ourselves, what with the paperwork, coordinating vet visits, knowing when to have certain testing done etc. Thank you too for keeping us informed every step of the way as our pets were in transit- it certainly helped relieve a lot of our "parental" anxieties! Also, your prompt action regarding Luke's nausea upon arrival allowed him to recover in time to leave as scheduled along with his brothers (saving us money and stress).

Please feel free to give our name and email to anyone who wishes to speak to us regarding using your service. We would feel pleased and honored to recommend you and your staff.

Relocating your pets to Australia and New Zealand

Australia and New Zealand have implemented programs of rabies control whereby pet owners have an alternative to the traditional long-term (6 month) quarantine. By meeting prescribed criteria of pre-entry veterinary requirements quarantine periods can be reduced to a minimum of 1 month.

We specialize in helping pet owners meet the strict requirements of these import programs. We have been in this business for over 15 years and our policy of "zero-tolerance for error" has contributed to our success, and earned us an excellent reputation.

Relocating pets from the US to Australia or New Zealand is a complicated process and requires specialized knowledge of import and export documentation, veterinary procedures, timing, airline policies, travel crate requirements, quarantine, boarding accommodation, and proper animal identification.

We provide professional assistance to pet owners, breeders, and their veterinarians to make this process as seamless and stress-free as possible. We can provide a complete "door-to-door" service to ensure that your pet makes it to your new home without any problems.

We adhere to the rules and regulations of the Live Animal Regulations of the International Air Transportation Association (IATA).

We are registered with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) as an Intermediate Handler, with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as an Indirect Air Carrier and we adhere to the USDA's Animal Welfare Act in all phases of our operation.
